The Goal: The creative process is of itself a nurturing process. Students learn problem solving and respect for others by recognizing that each person's work is meritorious and deserving of respect.  The goal is creative expression and appreciation for diversity of art products.

Students will develop an appreciation for art and artists through lessons in art history and techniques used to motivate them in the production of their art. Students leave with an increased awareness and appreciation of the importance of art in the world and the knowledge that  art enhances our lives.  

Special Events:

• District Rodeo Show - January 15 (5:00-8:00pm) & 19 (9:00am - 5:00 pm)/ SBISD's Yargin Museum
• PTA evening of either Western or International entertainment, featuring art, music, and dance performances - March 31(6:30 pm)/ Terrace cafeteria
• District Spring Show- March 3 - 29/Dilliard's lobby at memorial City Mall.
• Rising Star, Texas' art and literary magazine contest (near year end)
• Terrace Flashlight, our school art and literary magazine  (near year end)
• Terrace Administration Building Art Show (rotates monthly with other schools)
• Artist of the Month - this is a great opportunity for students to showcase their own art collection for all of Terrace to enjoy. The only requirement is to bring in 6 or more peices of their finished art.  Artwork can be recent works or over the years. Located in the front desk lobby.
