Work Underway on Terrace Elementary School Replacement Project

Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) is making progress on the replacement of Terrace Elementary School as part of the district’s ongoing works under the 2017 Bond Program.

Terrace will be the seventh elementary school replaced under this bond initiative, with construction slated to begin in early 2025.

Project Highlights:

  • Temporary Relocation: In 2025, students and staff at Terrace Elementary will temporarily relocate to the East Transition Campus (ETC) while the new school is being constructed, ensuring continuity in learning during the building process.

  • New Facility Design: The new Terrace Elementary will be designed to serve 750 students. This state-of-the-art facility will include modern, flexible learning spaces that align with SBISD's commitment to providing the best possible educational environment for its students.

  • Community Involvement: An integral part of SBISD’s Bond Program is the Project Advisory Team (PAT) process, which ensures meaningful community engagement throughout the design and construction phases. For the Terrace Elementary project, three of six PAT meetings have already been held. These meetings gather feedback from parents, teachers, staff, and community members to inform the design of the new school. This process is a key component of SBISD’s approach to ensure that families and the community have a voice in shaping the future of their schools.

  • Data-Driven Design: In addition to community input, SBISD also relies on its Long-Range Facilities Plan and Educational Specifications to guide the design of new buildings. This data-driven approach ensures that facilities are not only responsive to community needs but also based on sound educational principles and long-term planning. These plans are a central part of the district’s established methodology for making informed decisions that support student learning and community growth.

Looking Ahead:

As SBISD moves forward with the replacement of Terrace Elementary, the district remains focused on providing modern, high-quality learning spaces for its students. The Terrace Elementary project is a continuation of the district’s commitment to meeting the needs of its students and community members through thoughtful, informed decision-making.
